Mosquito Control Fulton County

Scientists estimate there are more than 2000 different species of mosquitoes on the planet. 200 of these are in the United States and 77 species are indigenous to the state of Florida. New mosquito strains are discovered in numerous regions every year.

Health Effects

Mosquitoes are vectors known to harbor a host of dangerous diseases. Once thought to only carry the malaria infections of the jungle, the insects are now also known to infect humans and animals with various strains of encephalitis, dengue fever, filariasis and other parasites in addition to West Nile Virus.

Livestock suffer from weight loss, milk reduction and overall poor heath costing farmers thousands of dollars. Pets become infested with life threatening heartworm parasites. All species of animals are susceptible to the viral infections mosquitoes transmit. Symptoms can range from mild flu to debilitating neurologic conditions and death.

Individuals experience allergic reactions to a mosquito bite in the same way an allergic reaction to a bee sting occurs. Secondary bacterial infections can result from rubbing and scratching bite welts.

Breeding Grounds

Breeding is common during the warm months and the insect prefers to lay the eggs on top of standing water. The amount of water is insignificant and even small areas of contained water after a spring shower will attract nesting females. Small pots or children’s toys to rivers, lakes and streams are all areas mosquitoes look for to repopulate.

Professional Eradication

Professional exterminators can quickly locate problem areas and eliminate the pests in all stages of growth, whether on the ground or in the air. Various methods of insect elimination provide a less toxic means of eradicating pests. Residential locations and commercial destinations are rendered pest free using modern scientific equipment.

In addition to traditional DEET chemicals, modern science has found natural soil based bacteria that when ingested by larvae, kill the insect before it has a chance to develop.

Pyrethrins are oils derived from the chrysanthemum family and have been used for centuries as organic insecticides. Science has been able to reproduce these oils to use in destroying the insect from the larvae to the adult stage. Less toxic chemicals like Altosid, Methoprene, Temepos, picaridins and oil from the lemon eucalyptus are applied in locations ranging from small to vast.

Gambusiu, or commonly called mosquito fish, are put into any size self-contained body of water. The fish grow to be 2.5 inches in length and feed off the top of the water, eating mosquito larvae.

Misting machines for private or commercial use are installed and operate similarly to underground sprinklers. Specially designed tubing and nozzles deliver insecticide to predetermined areas at programmable intervals. Easy to change cartridges supply and mix the chemicals necessary to ensure a safe mosquito free environment.
